# Battery

In this article you can read how long the battery typically lasts and how to know when it is time to charge.

###### Specifications

* On average a full battery lasts for 9 months.
* Charge time from 0 to 100 percent is about 2 hours.
* You can charge the battery using the included charging cable, which attaches magnetically to the bottom of the lock.

###### How to know if your battery needs charging

* When the battery is almost empty (below 20%), the lock button will flash orange three times before turning green when opening.
* Watch for in-app notifications that recommend charging.

###### How to know the lock is charging

* While charging, the button on the lock shows a white rotating light every 3 seconds.
* When the lock is fully charged, the lights turn off.
* If the battery is completely empty, you can also charge the lock using a power bank or your phone, as long as it has a USB-C port.
