Battery saving mode
Battery saving mode
Battery saving mode makes sure your lock uses less energy, so the battery lasts longer.
When this mode is enabled, your phone can no longer connect to the lock automatically. You must first press the lock button once to "wake it up" before you can connect to it.
You can choose yourself when battery saving mode is active.
There are three options for this:
- Always on
- Time slots
- Auto activation
Note: if Always on is enabled, the other two options cannot be enabled at the same time. However, Time slots and Auto activation can be enabled at the same time as each other.
Always on
With Always on, battery saving mode is continuously active. This means you always have to press the button first before you can control the lock through the app.
This is the setting that saves the most battery.
Time slots
With Time slots, you set your own time blocks during which battery saving mode is automatically active. Outside these time blocks, the lock works as usual and the app connects automatically.
This is handy, for example, if you don't need a connection at night or during working hours.
Here's how to set up a time slot:
- Turn on the switch next to Time slots.
- Enter a start time and an end time.
- Click Add to add another time slot (up to a maximum of 4 time slots).
- Click Save to save your changes.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Both the start time and end time are required. If you leave one of them empty, you'll see a "Required" message and won't be able to save.
- Time slots may not overlap. If they do, you'll see the message "Overlaps with another time slot" and won't be able to save until you've fixed this.
- You can set up a maximum of 4 time slots. Once you've reached the maximum, you'll see "Limit reached (4)" and the option to add another one will disappear.
During the time slots you've set, the following applies: as long as battery saving mode is active, you must press the lock button first before you can connect.
Auto activation
Auto activation is a kind of sleep mode: if the lock isn't used for a set amount of time, battery saving mode switches on automatically.
As soon as you connect to the lock again, battery saving mode switches off automatically.
Here's how to set up Auto activation:
- Turn on the switch next to Auto activation.
- Enter after how much time the lock should go into battery saving mode if it isn't used.
- Choose the unit: minutes, hours, or days.
- Click Save to save your changes.
Turning off battery saving mode
If you turn off the main switch next to Battery saving mode, Always on, Time slots, and Auto activation will all be disabled. You'll then see the message: "Battery saving mode disabled. Always on, Time slots and Auto activation are only available when Battery saving mode is enabled."
