Frequently asked questions about the app
Below you will find answers to the questions we get most often about the TMD Locks app.
Can I temporarily turn off Bluetooth for my lock?
Yes. On the home screen of the app, there is a Bluetooth switch to the right of your lock. When you turn it off, the app no longer connects to the lock. This is useful if your bike is often within range of your phone, for example at home. Turn the switch back on when you want to use the lock.
Does the app need to be open to open my lock?
No, but the app must stay active in the background. Don't swipe the app away from your recent apps. After restarting your phone, open the app once so it runs in the background again.
How many phones can use my lock?
You can share your lock with up to 5 people. However, only one phone can be connected to the lock at a time. Read more in Share my lock.
Does the lock work with a smartwatch?
There is currently no smartwatch app. You open the lock with the lock button while your phone is nearby, via the app, or with the emergency code.
Does the lock work without internet?
The app uses Bluetooth to open and close the lock. This also works without an internet connection. Some features, such as viewing the last known location of your lock, do require internet.
My phone battery is empty, how do I open my lock?
Use the emergency code. It lets you open the lock with the lock button, without your phone.
